Enrollment Criteria for Remote Patient Monitoring (RPM) Program for Concussions or Mild Traumatic Brain Injuries (mTBI)
To enroll in the Remote Patient Monitoring (RPM) program for monitoring concussions or Traumatic Brain Injuries (TBI), patients should meet the following criteria:
Medical Criteria

Diagnosis of Concussion or TBI:
- Confirmation of concussion based on Neurological Evaluation and
RightEye Tracking Assessment

Post-Acute Phase:
- Patients should be in the post-acute phase of their injury, having received initial emergency or in-person care.

Stable Condition:
- The patient's condition should be stable enough to be managed remotely. Patients with rapidly deteriorating conditions may not be suitable for RPM.
Technological and Accessibility Criteria
- Access to Technology:
- Must have access to a smartphone, tablet, or computer with internet connectivity to use the RPM platform and associated monitoring devices.
- Proficiency with Technology:
- Patients or their caregivers should be comfortable using technology for communication and monitoring purposes.
Monitoring and Compliance Criteria
- Willingness to Participate:
- Patients must be willing to participate in the RPM program, including regular monitoring and communication with healthcare providers.
- Compliance with Monitoring Protocols:
- Patients should agree to comply with the monitoring protocols, such as wearing monitoring devices, completing daily check-ins, and reporting symptoms.
Risk Assessment Criteria
- Low Risk for Immediate Complications:
- Patients should be at low risk for immediate, life-threatening complications that would require urgent in-person medical attention.
- Ability to Recognize Symptoms:
- Patients or caregivers must be able to recognize signs of deterioration or complications and seek emergency care if needed.
Support System Criteria
- Availability of Caregivers:
- If the patient requires assistance, a caregiver should be available to help with the use of monitoring devices and communication with healthcare providers.
- Follow-Up Care:
- Patients should have access to regular follow-up care with their healthcare provider, either virtually or in-person, as required.
Additional Considerations
- Legal and Ethical Compliance:
- Patients must provide informed consent to participate in the RPM program, understanding the scope, benefits, and limitations of remote monitoring.
